Women’s basketball falls against Houston Baptist

The Omaha women’s basketball team fell to 3-2 on the year after their 64-51 loss to Houston Baptist on Friday.

Omaha led 33-26 at halftime but let the lead slip away in the final stretch.

Mikaela Shaw led the Mavericks with her second double-double of the season with 19 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

Remy Davenport contributed with nine points and Vannessa Barajas had eight points and six rebounds.

The Mavericks are back in action when they host the University of Kansas City 7 p.m. Thursday.
