The University of Nebraska at Omaha Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship will host the fourth annual Midwest Entrepreneurship Conference (MWEC) this Friday and Saturday at Kaneko, 1111 Jones St.
The conference — which features 16 speakers who are all young and successful entrepreneurs — is held with the goal of inspiring students and young professionals to “consider the impact innovative thinking and entrepreneurial action can have on their lives and in their communities, whether early in their career or while still in college.”
This year’s 16 speakers are highly successful and come from a diverse background. Two of the speakers were contestants on Shark Tank, one contestant was Entrepreneur Magazines 2013 Entrepreneur of the Year, and several are “30-under-30” CEOs. Many started businesses shortly out of college and currently employ hundreds of people, while others have appeared on national media.
