We asked Gateway photographer Arthur Nguyen to capture a few sights from around the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s campus. By the looks of it, he really enjoyed this assignment.

Arthur shared these amazing photos from last week. Enjoy!

Bell Tower
The Henningson Memorial Campanile — a 16-story bell tower located on the main campus — is quite iconic to the University of Nebraska at Omaha campus. Listen for Hedwig’s Theme from Harry Potter!
Bell Tower Just Before Construction
The Henningson Memorial Campanile was designed by Robert A. Torson Architects, and contains a carillon of 47 bronze bells. The bells, weighing 12 tons, were cast by the Paccard Foundry in Annecy, France in November 1988.

Before the University of Nebraska at Omaha was even truly a campus, almost all of its classes were held in what is today known as Arts and Sciences Hall (ASH).

Durham Interior, Different Angle
Now here’s a different take on Durham Science Center’s atrium. The building houses a planetarium and a traveling chemistry lab, and is the central hub for the very popular “Aim for the Stars” camp, providing a math-and-science based summer camp for middle-schoolers, that has been in operation since 1998.

If you’re a student at The Peter Kiewit Institute, you’ve seen this dynamic view from inside the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Pacific Campus building.
