
Maverick swim team falls at Northern Iowa
After a two-week break of no competition, the Omaha swimming and diving team returned to the pool over the weekend, losing on the road to Northern Iowa, 173-127. Junior Morgan Stepp led UNO by winning three events: the 200 fly, 100 fly and 400 IM.
Freshman Kylie Vermeire also contributed with wins in the 1,000 free and 500 free. Senior Natalie Renshaw took first place in the 100 back and second in the 50 free to add to the Omaha effort. The Mavericks compete again on Friday, Nov. 20 when they travel to the Kansas Classic in Topeka for the three-day event.

Cross Country wraps up season at NCAA Regionals
The Omaha cross country season finished their season at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship on Friday, finishing 32nd overall with a score of 934. The Mavericks were led by Karo Garcia who finished 167th overall.
Perla Gutierrez finished second for Omaha at 178th and Avery Schmit was third at 194th. With the conclusion of the cross country season, the team will now transition indoors for the start of track & field season which begins Dec. 12 at Kansas State.
