Omaha Police were called to a parking lot near 70th and Dodge Streets Tuesday afternoon after a man had accidentally shot himself.
The incident happened near the Jason Deli and Massage Envy storefronts at 4:35 p.m. UNO Campus Security notified students, faculty and staff about the shooting via email shortly after.
Local news reports say officers found Jaylen Love, 18, nearby who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Love told police the shooting was an accident and was transported to the University of Nebraska Medical Center with serious injuries.
He’s expected to survive his self-inflicted injuries.
The shooting is still under investigation.
