The students will arrive in early- to mid-January and will stay for five months. They speak English and have medical insurance. “American Swastika,” co-authored by School of Criminology and Criminal Justice professor Pete Simi, was recently named the 2010 CHOICE magazine Outstanding Academic Title of the year. The book gives an ethnographic account of organizations within the White Power Movement including the Ku Klux Klan, the Aryan Nation, Neo-Nazis and Skinheads. Simi spent several years living with members of these groups in addition to conducting other research since 1997.
UNO’s modern dance company, The Moving Company, is celebrating its 75th anniversary Dec. 12 at 1 p.m. in the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Building Dance Lab.
