The National Council of Negro Women hosted the Midwest Poetry Vibe in the Milo Bail Student Center Ballroom on Wed. Nov. 3 from 7 to 10 p.m. The event was open-mic style and presented live music from Omaha R&B band The Last Few.
The event was a fundraiser to help the group to buy Christmas gifts for a 4-year-old girl it has adopted for the holidays. For only $7, students and the public were able to enjoy food and entertainment.
The council hopes to host similar events in the future.
