Men’s Tennis vs. Chicago
The Omaha men’s tennis team fell on Saturday to Illinois-Chicago 7-0, snapping their two-match winning streak. The Mavericks are now 5-9 on the year. Illinois-Chicago took two out of three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Omaha’s No. 1 team of Colin Buckley and Ignace Warson topped UIC 6-4 in Omaha’s only doubles win. The Mavericks played several tight matches in singles but were unable to find a victory. They wrap up their six-game homestand on Tuesday when they host Lamar. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
Women’s Tennis vs. Nebraska-Lincoln
The Omaha women’s tennis team was stopped by Nebraska-Lincoln 4-0, dropping them to 5-7 on the season. Nebraska took two out of the three matches in doubles, with Kenzie Hill and Allison Johnson beating Lincoln’s No. 3 team, 6-2. The Huskers closed out the Mavericks in singles, sweeping all three matches. The Mavs are back in action on Tuesday, March 22, when they travel to Lorman, Miss. and take on Alcorn State.
