The Curiosity Review will host a 6 p.m Wednesday discussion about “How the Scots Invented the Modern World,” at Kaneko-UNO Library, 111 Jones St. The Arthur Herman 2001 title is depicted as “the true story of how Western Europe’s poorest nation created our world and everything in it.”

In it, Herman reveals Scotland’s contributions to science, philosophy, literature, education, medicine, commerce, and politics – contributions that have formed and nurtured the West ever since.
