The multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning rock band Chicago will kick off Loessfest this Saturday with a free music concert at Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park in Council Bluffs.

Chicago, which formed in 1967, had a steady stream of hits through the 1970s and ’80s, including “Saturday in the Park,” “25 or 6 to 4,” “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?” and “Hard Habit to Break.”

The rock band’s “Chicago Transit Authority” album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame this year.

Last July, the band released “Now: Chicago XXXVI,” its first new album of original material since 2006.

Opening for Chicago is John and Jacob.
