"Another Year," directed by Mike Lee, began playing late January and can be seen at Film Streams until Feb. 10. The movie takes place in the UK and focuses on a happily married couple in their 60's. Although Tom and Gerri (Jim Broadbent and Ruth Sheen) seem to be very much in love, their friends and family have deep issues with getting older. 

I have a theory about Jason Statham movies - the worse the movie, the more times we see him shirtless in the trailer.

For years, Cinema Center, located on 84th and West Center Road, was the local theater for people who lived in the Aksarben area. When the big orange theater closed a few years ago, it left a huge void.  When the new Aksarben Cinema opens today, that void may finally be filled.

I'm five years old again and squealing with delight. It's the day before Thanksgiving and ABC Family is showing "Beauty and the Beast." Belle, my favorite princess (sorry, Ariel. You're a close second) is singing her theme song about the provincial life she lives in France on the screen in front of me, and I get goose bumps.

If you've seen the 1967 film adaptation of Jacqueline Susann's "Valley of the Dolls," brace yourself for an even more rouge (and hilarious) parody at the SNAP!/Shelterbelt Theatre. The stage production, of the same name as the book and movie, follows the movie script almost entirely, with one obvious exception: cross-dressing. 

UNO Television presented a homemade documentary during the event "Relive the Journey: St. Cecilia's Cathedral through the Lens of UNO Television" on Nov. 30. About 45 people attended the event, which took place in the Community Service and Public Affairs Commons building's room 132 at 5:30 p.m. 

Anyone who has seen a movie starring Denzel Washington knows his proven ability to engage his audience and steal their hearts, no matter what character he plays. However, it could catch someone off guard to see that the Oscar award-winner plays a more humble role as Frank Barnes in "Unstoppable" in order to let a new guy get some rave. 

The Gateway joined an audience of roughly 400 people for an advance screening of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" on Monday, Nov. 15 at Rave Motion Pictures Westroads.

If there's one thing that Muggles worldwide can agree on, it's that the latest movie about the Boy Who Lived is the bleakest and most sinister yet.

Whether fans, or merely along for the multi-billion dollar franchise ride, audiences who hit the theaters this weekend to see the first installment of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" will be presented with a very different scene than that of the shy young boy in "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
