Nov. 6 – The Orpheum Theater will host Monty Python’s Spam-a-lot musical based off the cult classic, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Performances run through Nov. 11 with matinees on Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets range in cost from $25 to $60 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster.

Nov. 7 – The Waiting Room presents its second Guitar Hero tournament in the past two months. The competition is open to the public for those 21 and over and starts at 7 p.m. There is no cover charge.

The Durham Western Heritage Museum will present its “The Enemy Within” tour, for its exhibit focusing on American espionage from 1776 through today. The tour starts at 10:30 a.m. For more information, contact the Education Department at 444-5027.

Nov. 10 – The band .And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead will perform at The Waiting Room for a 9 p.m. show. Tickets are $12.

Film Streams and the Slowdown will present a tribute to grunge rock band, Nirvana. Bands include Bear Country, Flamboyant Gods, Coyote Bones and others. The show begins at 9 p.m. and admission is free.

Nov. 11 – UNO’s Student Programming Organization is presenting comedian and actor Nick Swardson at the Omaha Music Hall. The show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $21.50 for the general public but $7 for UNO students with their MavID in the Milo Bail Student Center ticket office.

John Mellencamp will perform at the Qwest Center with opening act Los Lobos starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $40 and $75 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster.

Nov. 12 – Boys Like Girls, along with All Time Low, The Audition and Valencia, will perform at Sokol Underground for a 7 p.m. show. Advance tickets can be purchased for $15 with $17 tickets the day of the show.

Nov. 15 – The UNO theater department will present Madwoman of Chaillot, a play about a society made vulnerable by power and greed, as well as a rebellion against a corrupt authority. The performance runs through Dec. 1. Tickets are available by either contacting 554-2335 or by visiting the theater box office inside the Weber Fine Arts Building.

Brad Paisley will perform at the Qwest Center, along with opening acts Rodney Atkins and Taylor Swift. Tickets range from $35 to $45 for this 7:30 p.m. show and can be purchased through Ticketmaster.

Nov. 16 – The Omaha Community Playhouse kicks off its annual production of A Christmas Carol, a musical based from Charles Dickens’s classic novel. Performances run through Dec. 23 with evening shows Wednesdays through Sundays with an additional matinee performance on Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $39 for adults and $24 for students.

UNO will host a Hindustani Concert, with North Indian music performed by Puspen Dey and Aditya Kalyanpur. The concert will be help at the Strauss Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $15 for the public and $10 for students and senior citizens.

Nov. 17 – The Waiting Room will host “Thanksgrooving 2007,” an all-day concert event helping to raise money for the Omaha Food Bank. Several local bands will be performing and a silent auction will also be featured at the event. Tickets are $12.

Nov. 19 – Straylight Run will perform at Sokol Underground for an 8 p.m. show. Tickets are $15.

Nov. 21 – Hypnotist and comedian J. Medicine Hat returns to the Funny Bone, performing through Nov. 25. Tickets are $16 and can be purchased online at www.funnyboneomaha.com.

Nov. 23 – Anchondo will perform a 9 p.m. show at The Waiting Room. Tickets are $8.

Nov. 24 – The Joslyn Art Museum will open its exhibit “Karl Bodmer’s Animals.” The Swiss artist’s work will be on display until Feb. 3, 2008.

Nov. 26 – Bayside plays Sokol Underground at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15.

Nov. 27 – Evanescence will perform at the Pershing Center, along with Sick Puppies and Julien-K. Tickets are $35.50 for this 7:30 p.m. show and can be purchased through Ticketmaster.

Nov. 28 – The UNO Student Programming Organization brings poet/actress Bridget Gray to campus. The District and Hughley’s star will perform at noon in the Nebraska Room of the Milo Bail Student Center.

Nov. 29 – Kottonmouth Kings play Sokol Auditorium, with opening acts Dirtball and Big B. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the concert beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $27 in advance or $30 day of show.

Nov. 30 – Seether will perform at Sokol Auditorium, with doors opening at 7 p.m. Advance tickets are $19 or $21 day of show.
