Continuing their longstanding tradition of volunteerism and charity work, the Gamma Delta Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta at the University of Nebraska at Omaha will be hosting their annual AmaXIing Challenge: Step It Up on April 18 at Lake Zorinsky, Shelter #5.
Registration for the race will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a 10 a.m. start time. Registration is $15 for stu-dents, $25 for adults and $12 for children aged 12 and under.
Step It Up is a 5K and 10K run/walk around Lake Zorinsky on South 156th Street. Through Step It Up, Alpha Xi Delta has already raised over $14,000 for Autism Speaks, a national autism advocacy organization which focuses on research, awareness and outreach. Face painting, a bake sale, an Easter egg hunt and a potato sack race are some of the activities to be offered before the race begins.
